CALL FOR PAPERS
12th Women's Leadership and Empowerment Conference [WLEC2021] accepts the following types of submissions:
Proposals are accepted on a rolling admission basis as long as space is available or by February 10th 2021 at latest and are to be be submitted along with application form. All submissions will be peer reviewed and acceptance/rejections is based on their relevance to the conference topics, as well as professional and personal background of the applicant. Admission decisions are made on a rolling admission basis within 7 days after the application has been received.
- Research Papers: Completed research papers in any of the topic areas listed bellow or related areas;
- Abstracts: Abstracts of completed or proposed research in any of the topic areas listed bellow, or related areas. The abstract for proposed research should include the research objectives, proposed methodology, and a discussion of expected outcomes;
- Student Papers: Research done by students in any of the topic areas listed bellow, or related areas;
- Case Studies and Lived Experiences: On any of the topic areas listed bellow, or related areas;
- Work-in-Progress Reports or Proposals for Future Research: Incomplete research or ideas for future research in order to generate discussion and feedback in any of related areas;
- Reports on Issues Related to the conference topics: Reports related to innovative techniques or research related to any of the topic areas listed bellow or related areas;
- Panel discussions: Proposals for themed panel discussions related to the conference topics.

Prof. Gerald Fry - University of Minnesota, USA
is a distinguished international professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development, College of Education and Human Development, University of Minnesota. He received his BA from Stanford University, an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton, and his PhD from Stanford University. Previously, Dr. Fry was a professor of political science and international studies at the University of Oregon where he also directed the International Studies Program and the Center for Asian and Pacific Studies. He was the team leader for major Asian Development Bank projects in Laos and Thailand related to education reform. He has previously taught at Stanford and various universities in Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. In 1991–1992, he was a Pew Fellow in International Affairs at the Kennedy School at Harvard. Among his many publications are the books Pacific Basin and Oceania; The International Education of Development Consultants: Communicating with Peasants and Princes; International Development Dictionary; Thailand and Its Neighbors: Interdisciplinary Perspectives; Synthesis Report: From Crisis to Opportunity, The Challenges of Educational Reform in Thailand; Association of Southeast Asian Nations; Historical Dictionary of Thailand; and Education in Thailand: An Old Elephant in Search of a New Mahout.

Prof. Lisa Morgan - Laurentian University, Canada
has always been intrigued by the concept of good leadership, which inspired her to join the Canadian Air Force and attend college at Royal Roads Military Academy in Victoria, British Columbia. Leadership has remained an interest and focus since those early days as Lisa launched her own midwifery practice in 1999 and started graduate school in 2003.
During these last couple of decades Lisa has acted as a consultant and Global Health Project Manager in Cambodia, Myanmar, Rwanda, Philippines and Tanzania. Lisa has coordinated global and Indigenous women’s health committees for the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada, and has served on numerous councils, committees and boards of directors, never shying away from assuming leadership positions. Along with her employment as the Director of Laurentian University’s School of Midwifery, Lisa is preparing to defend her PhD in Health Policy and continues to research the provision of reproductive health care in low resource settings.

Dr. Susan Crosbie - Amaad Private School, Oman
After working for various investment banks in NYC and Bangkok, Dr Susan Crosbie returned to academia and earned her doctorate in education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus, USA in 2006. Her inspiration came after teaching at an adult literacy program in the Republic of South Africa from 1996-2001. She has been teaching in the Arabian Gulf for over fifteen years, and currently during the academic year, she acts as an educational consultant for K-12 schools. Her research interests include 1) academic integrity and the use of technology, including artificial intelligence, not only in the identification of academic fraud but also in guiding students how to use technology to build vocabulary to avoid plagiarism, and 2) MSALs (Modern South Arabian Languages) of Oman which are included in the UNESCO list of endangered languages. She is currently researching to write a book chapter about the two recently deceased, greatly loved leaders His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand and His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman.

Laura Reid - Storyforth, USA
Laura Reid believes in the power of storytelling to transcend boundaries, borders and beliefs. Having grown up with a stutter, paralyzing public speaking fear and social anxiety, Laura is an unlikely Professional Speaker and Public Speaking Coach. But that’s what makes her uniquely aligned to help others overcome their fear, empower their voice, and tell their most authentic stories. Laura has taken top honors in speech contests and storytelling competitions and has trained countless entrepreneurs, non-profits, leaders and business owners to use effective public speaking and storytelling to make more of an impact and inspire others to support their mission. Laura resides on the Big Island of Hawaii with her husband and teenage son, but loves to travel, speaking at conferences and events to share her message on the power of voice and story. Laura is currently hosting webinars and trainings on how to remain engaging while speaking virtually, skills she believes are needed more than ever. Laura holds a Master’s of Education and is a published author. She is the founder of Storyforth and creator of The Speakeasy School.

Dr. Lejla Music - University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hertzegovina
is working at the Department of the Sociology of Political Science at Faculty Sarajevo, at Sarajevo University, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She graduated in 2005, from Department of Philosophy and Sociology at Faculty of Philosophy Sarajevo, and later on in English language and literature. In 2006 she gained her MA degree from Centre of Interdisciplinary after graduate Studies Sarajevo in Gender studies, and earned her doctorate in 2012, from Faculty of Political Sciences Sarajevo. She teaches disciplines Sociology of Youth and Sociology of Gender. In 2015 she had presentation the annual meeting of American sociologists in Chicago, at World Congress of Sociologists in Yokohama, Japan (2014), and IPRA Conference in Istanbul (2014). She also participated in American sociologists’ annual meetings and Sociologists for Women in Society in San Francisco(2014) and New York(2013). Her research interest during 2015 included participation in Athens in Atiner annual Sociological Conference, Youth on the move Conference in Dublin in June , presentation on Femicide at Queen Mary University of London in November, as well as participation in Ankara, Conference on Knowledge and Politics in Gender studies, in October. In 2016 she participated in meeting of organization Sociologists for Women in Society, in Memphis, Tennessee, USA and Women Leadership and Empowerment Conference with theme Female founders in sociology in Bangkok( published in proceedings of Conference in march 2016). She is current member of ASA, ISA, SWS, IPRA, Forum Bosnae, Atiner and she writes for Department of Sociology of Bosnian Science Academy. She had written articles, compendiums of texts for students of Faculty of Political Sciences in field of Sociology of Gender and Sociology of Youth, and variety collections of papers/scientific monographs and conference proceedings, participated in Conferences in Bosnia and Herzegovina and internationally.

Khandicia Randolph - Regent University, USA
is the owner and sole proprietor of Finer Consulting Services. A Chicago native, Khandicia has been a member of the Columbia, MO community for 20 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri (Columbia), a Master of Public Administration, and a Master of Arts in Law from Regent University’s School of Law. Currently, she is a Doctor of Strategic Leadership student at Regent University. She has consulted for Columbia Public Schools, The Daniel Boone Regional Library, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated chapters in Columbia and Kansas City, MO, as clients on various aspects of leadership development, effective communications and, organizational planning and strategy.

obtained her Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from Hong Kong Baptist University. She is currently working as Assistant Professor in The Open University of Hong Kong. She is responsible for courses in English Language and Literature at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her areas of interest include Modernism, Psychoanalytic Criticism and Comparative Studies.

She is responsible for courses in English Language and Literature at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Sandy Lamb - Altitude Business Coaching, USA
Sandy believes in a world where all leaders model emotionally intelligent behavior to transform the way their teams collaborate and grow both personally and professionally. Through her targeted executive coaching program, assessments and leadership training, she helps women, in male dominated industries, to gain self-confidence in their ability to inspire and influence others by their authentic leadership style. She spent 27+ years working as a female executive in the Engineering/Construction industry and is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with an MBA in International Business. In 2019/2020, she traveled the world speaking at women’s leadership and empowerment conferences (or delivered virtually) her message on how to build your emotional intelligence and resilience in a time of challenge and disruption.
She gives back to her community by being the chair for the Colorado Springs Committee of Women’s Foundation of Colorado, chair of 4Word Colorado Springs, a community for Christian women in the workplace and a speaker coach for TedX. Sandy resides in Colorado Springs with her husband of 23 years, Michael and their three talented teenage children.

- Video presentation: Live and pre-recorded, both available for extended period of time for questions and discussions
- Poster presentation: Posters are exhibited in the virtual exhibition room and available for questions and discussions
- Panel discussion: Propose a panelist and a theme for live discussion
PROCEEDINGS
Papers presented at the conference will be published in the official ISBN conference proceedings publication.
In order to have your paper published in the official conference proceedings, your submission should have been previously approved and registration arrangements completed.
Participants who have completed registration arrangements and wish their paper published in the official conference proceedings publication must submit their paper and/or abstract by February 20th 2021.
