The 2nd Women’s Leadership and Empowerment Conference (WLEC2007), held 21st to 23rd June 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand at the First Hotel Bangkok, built on the pioneering vision of the inaugural edition and strengthened the global network of women leaders, scholars and practitioners. As an early edition in the series, WLEC2007 focused on themes of women’s leadership, empowerment, education and human development, creating a space where meaningful professional connections, cross-cultural dialogue and research-informed practice converged. Although this conference predates the introduction of our full digital archiving system, it remains a foundational chapter in the WLEC story — one that helped shape the inclusive, interdisciplinary and impact-oriented character of all subsequent editions.
